Class 2A – Disconnect/Reconnect
As an ASP Level 2 electrician, “Disconnect/Reconnect” work involves tasks related to the disconnection and reconnection of service cables at the Point of Attachment of a property to the electricity distribution network. This work is limited to activities that do not involve accessing network assets or making mechanical changes to those assets.
• Disconnection and Reconnection at the Point of Attachment.
• Temporary Disconnection for Safety.
• Work on Service Protection Devices.
• No Access to Network Assets – Class 2A work is strictly limited to the customer’s side of the Point of Attachment.

Class 2B - Underground Services
As an ASP Level 2 electrician, “Underground” work involves tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical service cables and equipment that are buried below ground.
This includes:
• Connecting and disconnecting underground service cables to properties.
• Installing new underground service Cables.
• Repairing and maintaining existing underground cables.
• Upgrading underground electrical infrastructure.
• Ensuring the safety and reliability of underground electrical systems.
• These tasks are crucial for providing and maintaining a reliable electrical supply to residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Class 2C - Overhead Services
As an ASP Level 2 electrician, “Overhead” work involves tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical service cables and equipment that are situated above ground.
This includes:
• Connecting and disconnecting overhead service cables to properties.
• Installing new overhead service cables.
• Repairing and maintaining existing overhead cables.
• Upgrading overhead electrical infrastructure.
• Ensuring the safety and reliability of overhead electrical systems.
• These tasks are essential for maintaining the electrical supply to residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Class 2D - Metering (Energising Service Equipment)
As an ASP Level 2 electrician, “Metering” work involves tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electricity meters.
This includes:
• Installing new electricity meters for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
• Upgrading existing meters to newer models or smart meters.
• Repairing or replacing faulty meters.
• Ensuring meters are accurately measuring electricity consumption.
• Performing meter relocations if required.
• Disconnecting and reconnecting meters as part of service upgrades or maintenance.
• Metering work is essential for accurate billing and monitoring of electricity usage.
